Product Release: Ductless Laminar Flow Hood
March 2009
The newest edition to the Sentry Air Systems product line is the laminar flow ductless containment hood. This state of the art fume hood includes many features that are extremely beneficial in pharmaceutical compounding, biological, and chemical fume applications. The hood features a low air flow alarm which notifies the operator with an audible and visible display when the desired airflow is not met inside the cabinet. In addition, the hood has an even laminar flow across the front of the hood, allowing for a smooth negative pressure across the work surface. This would be particularly desirable in compounding applications, and those seeking a hood with minimal turbulence. Some of the other features of this laminar flow hood are a digital hour counter for monitoring system run-time, variable speed controller to adjust the velocity inside the cabinet, and a quick change pre-filter that allows the operator to replace the pre-filter rapidly.
The Sentry Air Systems laminar flow hood is designed to protect the operator and utilizes a combination of HEPA and/or activated carbon filtration. The laminar flow hood will conform to CDC and NIH standards for Class I Biological Safety Cabinet.
